Magazine spread final outcome

This is the page for the final spread also, the page with the braclets will be beside this page I think it came togrther well and I like the final outcome.

This is my page for the spread I am using as my final I think it works best with the opposite page with the text

This is the page for my spread I changed it slighty but I dont like this as I think it doesn't work well. I think this page would be better with just the whole image of the bangles on it with the text on the opposite page, sometimes less is best!

Development work for moving type

Here are some quotes I took from shrek and played about with font styles. These could be used for my final moving type piece!
Trying out different types of font

This is some sketches I did for my final moving type piece and the type of font I will use through it. I will include sketches of a person walking and a skate boarder through the flip book which will include the ' I CAN MOVE IT'.

Corsage

Some close ups, I like how the glue turned out on the wire, I like the contrast of it against the red corsage lettering.

Wearing type

I had to design a piece that would be wearable for typography class. I decided to make a corsage using wire, black tights, tissue paper, thin stick, beads, net...I put the word 'corsage' through the piece then, I am pleased with the end results. In this picture I placed it on a manikin and teamed it up with black beads which could be worn with it.

Neville Brody

I like how he put the black text on a plain white background with the image on the other side, it stands out. He created the word 'Judy' like an upside down mirror image which I find appealing. I like how he placed the word together.
I like the colour going through this it caught my eye when I seen it also I like the way he used the words and letters for the shading.

I like the colour and how you have to look twice to see what it actually says, it kind of plays with your eyes but I like the style.

Magazine prep work

I liked this style of font, I think it stands out how the line thickness changes and the shading makes it more effective
This is a rough sketch of how my final spread might look, I'm pleased with how it is looking so far

I decided to call my magazine Boudoir meaning wardrobe in french, I thought the name was appealing. I tried out various styles out lettering I found the castellar font most effective with my layout so decided to go with it for the final cover

This could be the title for a story in spread sheet, I messed around using the grid as a guide I like how it turned out.

Here I played around with different styles of font for the magazine spread I have to do

Type drawings

Here i created pictures using different fonts and letters, I like how they turned out. The hand I enjoyed doing as the size and shape of the letters were fun to do. I think it is good to use type through drawings it makes it more fun and different look on things.

David Carson

I like his work especially how he creates the shadows and where the text is placed also how he plays around with it. I love how he has an image comung through the letters in this its looks very effective.

Here I created an eye in photoshop using text. I created the brush with text then started to draw with it. I like how it turned outit looks quite dramatic!
